Next generation boat building
The Dutch Boat Factory was founded in response to a growing problem in the Netherlands. Despite our nation's long and proud history of boat building, we are rapidly losing production capacity. Skilled labour is scarce, increasingly expensive, and less willing to work in traditional, labour-intensive and often dirty boatbuilding processes.
As the leadership team behind CEAD, the company known for building large-scale 3D printers, we saw this challenge firsthand when working with the industry. We realised we have the technology and experience to provide a modern solution for our own maritime industry.
With the Dutch Boat Factory, we are restoring production capacity by combining automated manufacturing with sustainable thermoplastic composites. We take pride in building boats and hulls that are strong, clean and ready for the next generation. And we're taking that same model beyond the Netherlands, to boat builders and their customers around the world.

HDPRO® is fully recyclable. We minimise material waste in our production process and design boats with a long service life and small ecological footprint.
Our origin
Dutch Boat Factory started as a spin-out from CEAD, the Delft-based builder of the world's largest 3D printers. CEAD developed Faber Navalis, the first user-friendly solution for 3D printing large objects such as boat hulls. In 2024, CEAD launched the Maritime Application Center to further professionalise 3D-printed hull production. In 2026, the Maritime Application Center became independent as Dutch Boat Factory.
Our MisSion
It's our mission to provide competitive, local boat building capacity around the world — for commercial operators and for NATO and allied defence forces — by building and operating local boat factories wherever they're needed.
